We had such a wonderful time vacationing with my family in Hilton Head at the end of June! It is so bittersweet to look back at these pictures because our time each year goes by so quickly. We love being in the same house together, sharing meals, playing on the beach and in the pool, playing board games, and watching movies. It reminds me of my days living at home. Of course, our beach trips have changed greatly since my children have come into the picture. The beach house isn't quite as quiet as it used to be! I bought a book our first day in Hilton Head and read a total of five pages! You know what, I would want it no other way! I'm so blessed to have Rivers and Jackson! It is so rewarding to be a mother and to see my children discovering the beach and just enjoying all of the little things in life that adults tend to look over. It was a nice week to slow down a bit, to get away from all of the distractions that pull us apart, and to really savor our time together as a family!
Rivers and Jackson really enjoyed the beach this year! Rivers busied herself building sandcastles and taking walks with Mimi and playing along the edge of the ocean. Jackson enjoyed walking at the edge of the water and wading in the tide pools. Jackson also enjoyed walking up to complete strangers at the beach to say "hello," look at all of their beach stuff, and to climb up in their beach chairs. They were both so much fun to watch!
